C-Section

So we have been scheduled for the 11th of May to have our little bundle enter the world, but because that is a Wednesday I've asked to have it the Friday before (the
6th). So either way our little lady will be her soon!!! Yeah!!

Easter at Grandma's 2011

We got together the Saturday befor Easter for the big HUNT at Grandma's house. Lexie is at the perfect age, she knew what was happening. I didn't get many pictures, but the kids had a great time!

Easter Egg Coloring

Becky invites the whole family over every year to color eggs. We had a small group this year, Aaron, Michelle, Mom, Dad and Jon couldn't make it. We only gave Lexie yellow to use and she would stick the eggs in (not let go so her hand was in the color) and just hold it. She had yellow hands for a while.

Art Time

Lexie loves to paint, draw or do any kind of craft. She has started making faces and people, all on her own!! It's been fun watching her.

This picture was done on April 19, 2011.

Baby Update

A few weeks ago while doing an ultrasound our Dr. alerted us of some problems he found. After an additional ultrasound by a specialist we have been told our new baby has Achondroplasia, which is a form of dwarfism. We were very shocked and went through a time of sadness and disbelief, but have found peace through our Heavenly Father and his plan for us. We know she is a special spirit and feel blessed to have her in our family. At this time, everything looks normal, except her arms and legs….this means she will be smart and live a fairly normal life despite her disabilities. Please feel free to ask us any questions you may have.

This conditions does create a lot of concern with a natural childbirth. For this reason I’ll be having a c-section in Sacrament where they have more specialists. After her birth she will go through genetic testing (to determine 100% what kind of dwarfism she has) and xrays (to make she all organs are healthy and normal). If any additional care or surgery is needed they will let us know then.

We know we will love and adore her and hope to be the best parents and big sister we can. Thank you for your love and support and we can’t wait for you to meet Madilynn Grace Laufer when she makes her grand entrance to this Earthly life!!

Love,
Alex, Kerri and Alexa
